It’s been called "Monty Python meets Sherlock Holmes." An Olivier Award-winning comedy, “The Play That Goes Wrong” features an unconscious leading lady, a corpse who can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything, including their lines. It's also one of four shows opening in area theaters this week. Ten others close and 11 continue their runs this week as well.

Marco Island Center for the Arts is celebrating the start of Christmas week with “Singin' and Swingin' – The Holiday Songbook.” It’s a musical revue that features singer Charlie Blum. He’ll not only perform. Director Hyla Crane points out that he’s also the one who chose the music for the show.

Arts Center Theatre on Marco Island is doing something different this holiday season. Instead of staging a full-scale production of a Christmas show, they’re reading selections from David Sedaris’ “Holidays on Ice.”
