This week, Sarasota Opera is again performing four operas: Carlisle Floyd’s “Susannah” on Wednesday and Saturday; Giuseppe Verdi’s“Il Trovatore” on Tuesday and Sunday; Giacomo Puccini’s “La boheme” on Thursday and Saturday; and Franz Lehar’s “The Merry Widow” on Friday. In addition, in a show called “Winter Concerts,” its apprentice and studio artists perform operatic arias, duets, and ensembles for the public on Thursday, March 26.

This is “For the Love of Music Vol. III, An Intimate Evening of Song & Story,” and it features four female musicians at the top of their craft: April Cushman, Claire Liparulo, Shelly Fairchild and Kelly Neff.

The Bonita Springs Masters Art Festival happens March 28th and 29th along the sidewalks and pathways at the Promenade at Bonita Bay. Hours are noon to 7 p.m.

He’s just 17. He’s already played Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. Last year, he won the Arthur Fraser Piano Competition at the Southeastern Piano Festival. His name is Michael Wu and Gulf Coast Symphony Music Director Andrew Kurtz is bringing him to the Music and Arts Community Center on April 25th.

For months, elementary school students have been submitting plays to Florida Studio Theatre. This past weekend, adult actors in FST's Professional Training Program performed the top 11 entries and the young playwrights received medals of valor during a red carpet event.

“CATS: The Jellicle Ball” began previews on Broadway March 18 in advance of the show’s April 7th opening. It’s not to be confused with the production of “CATS” that is onstage at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre through April 4.

Early April will mark the 100th anniversary of "Rachel at the Well's" dedication. The Edison Park Neighborhood Association is celebrating the occasion on Sunday, April 12th with a parade that features the Edison Park School Drum Group and the Fort Myers High School Green Wave Marching Band, a recital by the Edison Park School violinists and a re-dedication and toast by Mayor Kevin Anderson.
