The No Kings III event was billed as a protest rally and drew people of many different political affiliations who said they had concerns with how the current administration in Washington run by President Donald Trump was handling things.

Measles cases are on the rise again in Southwest Florida.

A Cessna seaplane that was involved in a fatal crash in Everglades City in February had been involved in another significant crash a little over four years prior, a National Transportation Safety Board report on that crash showed. An NTSB report shows that on Sept. 6, 2021, the same Cessna A185F, identified as N7475N, sustained substantial damage when it made an emergency landing in a corn field in Kingsley, Iowa, after the pilot reported a total loss of power.

Collier County Commissioners voted Tuesday to draw up a contract to pay $11.6 million to the Trust for Public Lands for a major bike and walking trail. That group needs $60 million by fall to buy abandoned tracks from Seminole Gulf Railway.

Another measles outbreak has occurred in the region, this time in Naples. Overall, in Florida, as of Feb. 21, there have been 114 cases of measles reported.

A pair of wildfires broke out late Sunday near Alligator Alley in the Florida Everglades. One of the fires grew to almost 25,000 acres Wednesday just south of Alligator Alley in the Big Cypress National Preserve near Ochopee. Several roadways are threatened by smoke and flames and a safety advisory has been issued.
