Two swimmers from FGCU will compete in the Olympics
Two students from Florida Gulf Coast University are competing in the Summer Olympics in London. Both are international students who are standouts on FGCU’s Women’s Swim Team.
Valerie Alker hosts All Things Considered. She has been a Reporter/Producer and program host at WGCU since 1991. She reports on general news topics in Southwest Florida and has also produced documentaries for WGCU-TV’s former monthly environmental documentary programs In Focus on the Environment and Earth Edition. Valerie also helps supervise WGCU news interns and contributes to NPR programs.
As the nation celebrates America’s 250th anniversary, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection is waiving admission fees for Florida state parks from Friday, July 3, through Sunday, July 5.
Starting July 1, Fla student-athletes are required to get an EKG. Pediatrician Sal Anzalone joins us to describe how they've organized the testing and what they found so far.
