The Sarasota County Croquet Club is the largest public croquet club in the U.S. Back in November 2024 it held the Shark Tooth Invitational. Participants played two-player golf croquet. Competitors came from all over the U.S. and were made up of all ages competing in Venice, Florida.

Assistant coach for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball Raina Harmon has been named as the FGCU Eagles' new women's head basketball coach.During her eight years with Iowa serving as assistant coach, Harmon cultivated a culture of excellence with a 208-63 record and a combined five BIG10 conference titles, solidifying the team's winning pedigree and cementing the Hawkeyes' reputation as a women's basketball powerhouse. Her other achievements include coaching and developing several WNBA draft picks and the 2024 AP & Naismith Player of the Year, eight berths into the NCAA tournament and back-to-back national championship appearances.

The Atlanta Dream announced Monday the completion of their 2025 coaching staff, adding former FGCU head coach and player Chelsea Lyles and former FGCU assistant coach Camryn Brown as assistant coaches under former FGCU head coach and now Atlanta Head Coach Karl Smesko. Lyles and Brown join assistant coaches Brandi Poole and LaToya Sanders, who were added to the team in January.

Florida Gulf Coast University's Chelsea Lyles has announced she is stepping down as head women's basketball coach of the Eagles.The university posted the information on its women's athletics site Monday and issued a release.

The FGCU women's basketball Eagles, ranked 14th in the NCAA DI tournament, were beaten by the 3rd ranked Oklahoma Sooners Saturday 81-58 in the first round of March Madness action.The loss was the second year in a row the Eagles were ousted from the tournament by the Sooners.
