An unusually strong cold front for early October swept through the entire peninsula over the weekend, dropping temperatures and drying nearly every drop of rain. The state's rainy season has likely ended in most areas due to this front. As it pushes into the southern Gulf of Mexico and northern Caribbean early this week, it will also result in unfavorable conditions for tropical cyclone development. The rest of the Atlantic Basin is also forecast to remain quiet all of this week.
