Mayor Kevin Anderson

A release from a city spokesperson said that Lawing, after more than 43 years in local government management, including the past five years serving the City of Fort Myers, has announced plans to retire December 9th to focus on personal and family priorities.

His resignation was as of Sept. 17 and confirmed by an FGCU spokesperson. Anderson also resigned from the board of Valerie's House Sept. 19.
