Gov. Scott Denies Allegations that "Climate Change" Language was Banned

Protests heated up outside the Statehouse in Tallahassee Friday over allegations that state employees can’t use the terms “climate change” and “global warming.”

The claims resurfaced yesterday after Florida Division of Emergency Management head Bryan Koon avoided using either term in his response before a Senate panel about federal dollars to combat climate change.

Governor Scott denied the allegations at a press conference today in Orlando.

"People come to Tallahassee and they express their views", said Scott. "Of course it’s not true that people can’t talk about what they want to talk about in state government.”

The Florida Center for Investigative Reporting published an article last week claiming that there’s an unwritten policy banning the terms “climate change” and “global warming” from official documents. The article included interviews from former state officials.
