Regional Airports Continuing To Feel Effects Of Sandy

Even though Hurricane Sandy has moved past South Florida, our region continues to feel some of the storms effects - especially at our airports.

Miami International Airport spokeswoman Maria Levrant says travelers need to call their airlines before the come to the airport to make sure their flights haven't been canceled or delayed.

"There's been a significant number of cancelations", said Levrant. Right now we have 52 canceled arrivals and 57 canceled departures those are to the following cities, Washington D.C., both New York airports, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Boston and Newark."

Flights to and from those same cities are being canceled at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport as well. That airport has a total of 47 cancelations so far today.

Both airports expects more cancelations this afternoon and tomorrow.
