There is no tropical activity in the Atlantic at the present moment. Over the State of Florida, a stationary front extends from the northeast Atlantic coast to the Gulf coast. Primarily affecting portions of central Florida, from Marion county southward, and stretching from the Tampa Bay area towards Orlando. In the wake of the first strong cold front of the season, drier and cooler air is expected to push into the Florida panhandle closer to the weekend.

However, leading the cold front, will be abundant moisture and developing showers and storms. The chances for widespread rain are likely to begin increasing on Thursday, for the coastal counties along the Gulf, and further inland on Friday. By Sunday, the cold front will be pushing out of South Florida, and it’s fall-like effects will likely linger until next week.
