Big Carlos Pass Bridge

Lee County celebrated the new Big Carlos Pass Bridge and the Big Carlos Bridge Artificial Reef Tuesday morning with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Traffic on thenewBig Carlos Pass Bridge will be shut down in both directions between 8 and 10 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, so crews can conduct final work needed before project completion.

Lee County is inviting the community to celebrate the completion of the new Big Carlos Pass Bridge and the Big Carlos Bridge artificial reef with a ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 30.

Upcoming nighttime closure slated for Big Carlos Pass Bridge with intermittent access on Jan. 12.

Traffic will shift to the new Big Carlos Pass bridge overnight Thursday, Nov. 13.

Construction activities have started on the new Big Carlos Pass Bridge, and the existing bridge will be closed to fishing beginning July 23 to ensure safety as Lee County’s contractor begins working in the pass later this month driving pile for the new bridg

The bridge replacement project got its start in 2017 with a Lee County Department of Transportation Development & Environment Study to evaluate alternatives for bridge improvements or replacement.
