Several bills have been filed in Tallahassee to fix the problems that plagued voters during the November election. Early voting was cut to eight days, and some counties had fewer voting locations because of smaller budgets.

Long lines were reported in South Florida. Voters waited up to seven hours to cast ballots in some places.

Leon County Elections Supervisor Ion Sancho had less trouble in Tallahassee, but he says large urban areas need more time for early voting.

“We’re going to have to go back to close to 120 additional hours of early voting", said Sancho. "That’s the only way the state of Florida can actually accommodate 11.5 million voters which are now registered to vote.”

Democrats want the number of early voting days restored to 14, like voters had in 2008. A bill filed by Miami Republican Senator Miguel Diaz de la Portilla would offer 9 days for early voting.
