The Naples-Immokalee-Marco Island area lead Southwest Florida in nonfarm employment for the year ending in February, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released its monthly report on jobs. The Sarasota area experienced growth year over year but the Cape Coral-Fort Myers area showed a slight decline.

Several Florida counties were added Saturday to the disaster declaration for Hurricane Ian that began Sept. 23, enabling more Florida businesses and residents to be eligible to apply for the Small Business Administration’s low-interest disaster loan program.
