"Last Stop, Flamingo" comes to Fort Myers Film Festival

The opening gala of the 2014 Fort Myers Film Festival kicks off March 19 with film events ongoing through March 23.  Among the works that will highlighted in the five-day event is a film titled, “Last Stop, Flamingo,” by Southwest Florida native Georg Koszulinski.  It’s the last in a trilogy of films documenting some of Florida’s strange or little-known history.

Previous films in the series include “Cracker Crazy” (2007) and “Immokalee U.S.A.,” (2008).  WGCU’s John Davis recently caught up with Koszulinski for a look at how the documentaries can challenge our conceptions of history and how they grapple with the filmmaker’s own relationship with his former home.
