GL Homes conducted building of an unusual kind Monday — and ended up helping relieve hunger.The mission was for two teams combined from GL Homes communities in Lee and Collier counties to go can-to-can in the annual GL Homes CAN-tastic Competition.

Many residents of Cape Coral say they are experiencing difficulties while applying for building permits, citing long wait times for approval and limited access to customer service. They say they want to see changes to a more “streamlined” process, one that caters to both safety requirements and residents’ needs.

A new robot is laying the foundation for the future of construction in The Sunshine State. The Australian built Hadrian-X has the ability to nearly replace an entire crew and lay a home’s foundation in just one day. WGCU’s Jennifer Crawford made her way to Babcock Ranch to get a preview of the machine in action and how it could change the way homes are built in Florida.
