A recall notice has been issued for 32-oz. printed poly film bag packages of fully cooked frozen “Bremer FAMILY SIZE ITALIAN STYLE MEATBALLS” containing “about 64 meatballs per package” with “BEST BY” date of “10/30/26” with timestamps between 17:08 through 18:20 printed on the back of the label. The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 4286B” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The affected products have a 15-month shelf-life and were shipped to Aldi supermarket locations nationwide.

Rosina Food Products of New York is recalling approximately 9,462 pounds of ready-to-eat frozen meatball products that may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically metal, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Sunday. The affected products have a 15-month shelf-life and were shipped to Aldi supermarket locations nationwide.

Empty shelves greeted prospective customers of the Winn-Dixie store in Immokalee on Sunday. he store closed operations Saturday as part of the Aldis takeover. There is no timeline for operations to resume under the Aldis name.

A family from Immokalee takes a photo in front of the now closed Winn-Dixie store, the last supermarket the community has available to them. The store closed late Saturday but a steady stream of customers drove up Sunday unaware that the store had closed earlier. The next nearest supermarket is a Publix about eight miles away in Ave Maria.

Folks in Immokalee who depended on the community's only supermarket, Winn Dixie, are frustrated and concerned. The store closed about a week ago as part of Aldi's acquisition of Southeastern Grocers.
