Wellhead for a water well.

A precautionary boil water notice has been rescinded system wide for the  Babcock Ranch community.

All required regulatory testing has been completed and, effective immediately, it is no longer necessary to boil your drinking water.

A notice was issued shortly after 5 a.m. Monday.

No exact cause for the alert was given but the notice mentioned that such alerts were issued in cases where "pressure in any part of the water distribution system has been reduced to zero, or a negative pressure, unless the zero pressure is due to an isolated water main break."

The notice also said if more than 300 homes and businesses were affected then an emergency alert would be issued.

Homes and businesses in the entire community were affected.
