How a local family turned pig races into a Southwest Florida staple

Spectators are going "hog wild" for a style of racing of a different breed. For more than 30 years, one local family has been organizing pig races, which have become a fan favorite at events across Southwest Florida. WGCU Culture and Connections reporter Elizabeth Andarge saw that while it might not be the Kentucky Derby, it is worth a trip to see the "Pork Chop Downs."

Federal 'God squad' exempts oil and gas drilling in the Gulf from endangered species rules

Trump administration officials are exempting oil and gas drilling in the Gulf of Mexico from the Endangered Species Act. In 2019 married couple John and Kelley Doran fed the homeless at 3 a.m. from their hot dog truck in Bradenton. Since then, their passion for helping those in need has turned into a nonprofit organization called Hands & Feet Outreach Ministry in Port Charlotte with their efforts changing many lives.
