A new poll puts Governor Scott squarely in the driver's seat in his quest to win re-election.
The poll has Governor Scott capturing 41% of the vote to challenger Charlie Crist's 36%. Libertarian Adrian Wylie comes in a distant third, with around 6%.
That's a shift from most recent polls that showed Crist with a slight lead or even odds with the governor.
The survey of just over 800 voters was done by the Tampa Bay Times, Bay News 9 and the Bob Graham Center.The rebounding economy was the main issue, with seven in 10 voters saying the governor "can do a lot" about the state's economy, and nearly half agreed the economy is improving.
The main issue with Crist? Only one out of three people polled described Crist as honest and ethical.
Scott was slightly better in that department, with 40% saying he is honest and ethical, with half saying he's not. Even among Republicans, roughly one in four said he can't be trusted and is not honest. There's still two months to go before election day.
