The slow recovery of Fort Myers Beach

It has been close to three years since Hurricane Ian plowed its way through Fort Myers Beach. Other storms have continued to slow the recovery process of getting the island community back on track. However, new bridges and a relocated Town Hall are some of the signs of progress that have taken over the area. WGCU’s Sandra Viktorova caught up with Mayor Dan Allers to see how the future of Fort Myers Beach will mesh with the “Old Florida” vibes the community has been known for.
