Tropical Wave in Central Atlantic Worth Watching, but Unlikely to Develop

Tropical waves are now moving across the Atlantic with consistency and carrying enough moisture for thunderstorms. One in particular, located about half way between the Leeward Islands and the west coast of Africa, is strong enough to grab our attention. While upper-level conditions appear marginal for development in the next 48 hours, those conditions are forecast to become even less favorable by mid-week as the wave nears the Lesser Antilles. Elsewhere in the tropics, a couple of upper-level disturbances over the Gulf and near the Bahamas will keep the weather unsettled in Florida, but tropical storm formation is not expected.
