A new book in Robert Macomber's "Honor" series is out in October

Valerie Alker

The tenth novel in author Robert  Macomber’s “Honor” series will be out in October.  The books focus on the life and times of Naval officer Peter Wake.  The first book “At the Edge of Honor” begins in 1863 with a young Wake taking command of a Union vessel patrolling the waters around Key West.  Fast forward more than twenty years.   The mature Wake is embroiled in espionage, fighting for his life in Cuba, in “Honorable Lies”. We talked to Bob Macomber about his work at his home in Matlacha, Twin Palm Cottage.

Perhaps to keep it from stabbing its own feet as it searches for the small creatures it eats. The intensity of the yellow on both its face and its feet becomes brightest during the breeding season, thus it probably also plays a role in courtship – perhaps serving as an indicator of the health of the bird.
