Keys Sees Four New Dengue Cases

Wikimedia

Health officials in the Florida Keys have confirmed four new cases of the mosquito-borne disease dengue fever, bringing the total in Monroe County this year to 26 cases. The Florida Department of Health says there is evidence the cases were locally acquired. Most of Monroe County's recent cases of dengue have been within a two-mile area of Key Largo. This marks the first outbreak of dengue fever in the Keys in a decade.
