Florida lawmakers ended the 2016 state legislative session March 11 with a record $82.3 billion dollar budget. Gov. Rick Scott got very little of what he wanted in terms of $1 billion in tax cuts and $250 million for economic incentives to businesses. They also passed bills expanding school choice in Florida and a measure to improve access to mental health and substance abuse treatment. We take a closer look at what bills passed, what didn’t and what to expect when Gov. Scott reviews the budget with his veto pen.
