Exotic Pet Ownership and Amnesty in Florida

Wikimedia Creative Commons

Beginning this month, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is holding a series of amnesty events around the state for exotic pet owners to surrender animals they can no longer care for. One of these events is coming to the North Collier Regional Park on Nov. 15. The Commission is also looking for people interested in becoming qualified exotic pet adopters to take over care for these animals. We’ll take a look at the FWC’s Exotic Pet Amnesty Program as we explore the qualifications for becoming an exotic pet owner and the risks and rewards that come with caring for an exotic creature. Do you think you have the time and resources needed to care for an exotic animal?
