Southwest Florida’s first and only fringe festival “Fort Myers Fringe” returns for its fourth year May 28 – 31, 2026. The festival serves an important function in helping to highlight and elevate independent, experimental, and alternative artists often on the ‘fringes’ of the established professional art world.
This year’s festival is again brought by Theatre Conspiracy with performances in the intimate Off Broadway Palm Theatre in Fort Myers.
In past years, featured performers were selected through an open lottery, but this year Theatre Conspiracy has curated a small selection of top national and international touring artists.
The performances will vary widely, including heartfelt and deeply personal storytelling, boundary-pushing comedy, a blend of live music and confessional humor, family-focused educational theatre, a show aimed specifically at teenagers, a Josephine Baker inspired burlesque cabaret dream play, and a particularly famous and absurdist anti-show.
Following Fort Myers Fringe, Theatre Conspiracy has a full roster of summer performance offerings running from June through August that includes an engaging mix of intimate theatre, live music, and other unique events.
We will get a preview with Fort Myers Fringe founder and organizer Bill Taylor, who is also the founder and Producing Artistic Director of Theatre Conspiracy.
