Tropical Storm Andrea Forms in the Gulf

From Charlotte County EOC Director Wayne Sallade: Here's the first advisory and track forecast for Tropical Storm Andrea. Note that the Florida West Coast is under a Tropical Storm Warning from Boca Grande and North. We can expect very heavy rains, gusty winds (35-40 mph) and the possibility of small, fast-moving waterspouts or tornados. The heaviest rains will come tomorrow as squalls cycle over this region.

The first very heavy rain bands are not far off shore and may reach the coast later this evening. Charlotte County EOC Director Wayne Sallade recommends limiting travel unless absolutely necessary, since minor street flooding is almost a certainty.
