Americans are, once again, expressing outrage over a mass shooting, this time at the end of a parade Wednesday honoring the 2024 Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
Doctors and administrators at Children's Mercy, one of three Kansas City, Mo.-area hospitals where shooting victims were transported, said at a press conference that they treated 11 children. Nine of those children suffered gunshot wounds. Their ages ranged from 6 to 15.

The Queensland Umbrella Tree is native to Australia, but was introduced to North America at least by early in the 20th century. It quickly became popular as a landscape plant in Florida and other sub-tropical states and was also cultivated as a houseplant that became (and still is) popular in more northern areas. Unfortunately – as with many other exotics, it took decades for us to realize negative aspects of the plant on our environment.Queensland Umbrella Trees have very shallow roots that can break up sidewalks, driveways, and building foundations.
Bonita Springs approved a zoning change for what the application calls a "data center." The application, however, also carries the data center label, which is not exactly describing the project. The application says that label was the only one that was appropriate. Confusion and concern came along with the label.
