In what some are calling “Uber’s first casualty,” San Francisco’s Yellow Cab Co-Op says it will file for bankruptcy. Their decision comes after a San Francisco court ordered the company to pay $8 million to a passenger who was severely injured in an accident while riding in one of their cabs.

But Yellow Cab is also struggling to compete for both fares and drivers with Uber and Lyft, which both have their headquarters in San Francisco.  Joe Fitzgerald Rodriguez of the San Francisco Examiner has been covering this story, and joins Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson with details.
