On Tuesday morning, America's population is predicted to hit 300 million. Who are we?

Increasingly we are: a single mom; a centenarian; an immigrant from Mexico; an Asian business owner; a baby boomer; someone named Jacob or Emily. Decreasingly, we are a White Anglo-Saxon Protestant; a Northeasterner; someone from a large family; someone surrounded by waving wheat and open space.

Lee commissioners see 'ugly' deficits with budget cut likely if Amendment 3 passes

Lee County commissioners will have to cut $121 million from the budget in 2027-28 and $159 million the following year if Amendment 3 passes in November. County commissioners received the news and were given a list of options about how they could offset those cuts during an angst-filled workshop this week.
