This past weekend the Healthy Lee Behavioral Health Coalition of SWFL, Kids’ Minds Matter, and other community partners presented a virtual event called Normal is Overrated. Now in its third year, the goal was to help break barriers and improve communication among teenagers and their families and peers.
Normal is Overrated featured local students who shared their first-hand experiences with behavioral and mental health issues, and offered commentary on the impact misunderstanding and fear can have on those already struggling with mental and behavioral health issues.
