The Vinyl Revival

Vinyl records are making a comeback. On this program we’ll explore who is making it happen and why. One California County has even declared August 12 as Vinyl Record Day!  Vintage LPs are being re-released and new ones are being made by current artists such as Adele. Some are worth a lot of money. We speak with Lee County indie singer/songwriter Wendy Webb who produced a vinyl LP from her 2011 album “Moon on Havana”.  We’ll also meet Kosmas Ballis, the co-owner of Echo Vintage Books and Vinyl – a store with more than 100,000 vinyl records in Fort Myers. We’ll talk about record fairs that happen three to four times a year in Tampa organized by Stacey Krieger. The next one is 9/14/13 at the Holiday Inn Express, 4750 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa from 10:00am to 3:30 pm. email questions to tbrecordshow3@aol.com.  And we’ll meet the sound and graphics digitization technician at the Recorded Sound Archives at Florida Atlantic University.
