When making our daily commutes to work or when our driving habits take us on the same route on a regular basis, it’s common to start noticing little landmarks along the way. We can even start to take for granted the idea that they’ll always just be there. One of those landmarks for News-Press storyteller Amy Bennett Williams is the subject behind this week’s essay. Williams and her kids always took note of a particular landmark in a strangers’ yard, but never investigated further until one day, something was different.
