Corkscrew Regional Watershed planning prescribed burn today
The South Florida Water Management District plans to conduct a 26-acre prescribed burn in the Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed (CREW) Management Area in Lee County today.. The burn unit is in the CREW Management Area, approximately 6 miles west of SR 82 and 1.3 miles south of Corkscrew Road. Smoke may be visible in the area of the burn.
Update work will force closures of northbound and southbound lanes of I-75 on the Peace River Bridge
Motorists can expect lane closures during nighttime/overnight hours on northbound and southbound I-75 over the Peace River Bridge.Work will be conducted from 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. Sunday, April 6 through Friday, April 11.
Councilmember Dr. Scott Crater resigns from Sanibel City Council
Sanibel City Councilmember Dr. Scott Crater has resigned his Sanibel City Council seat, citing a new Florida Financial Disclosure Statement form that he said would negatively impact his business, partners and family.Crater's resignation was effective as of December 28. He was elected to serve a four-year term on the Sanibel City Council March 2, 2021.
