Blast kills hundreds at Gaza hospital; Hamas and Israel trade blame, as Biden heads to Mideast
A massive blast rocked a Gaza City hospital packed with wounded and other Palestinians seeking shelter Tuesday, killing hundreds of people, the Hamas-run Health Ministry said. Hamas blamed an Israeli airstrike, while the Israeli military said the hospital was hit by a rocket misfired by Palestinian militants.
Proud Boys member pleads guilty for role in Capitol riot
Matthew Greene, 34, has pleaded guilty in federal court to two criminal charges: conspiracy and obstruction of an official proceeding, related to the Capitol siege on Jan. 6, 2021.

Historic Tales of Gasparilla Island as told by a fourth-generation Gasparilla Islander
David Futch’s family has deep roots on Gasparilla Island — about as deep as they come. His family first came ashore in the 1880s to fish, and it was his great-grandfather Frank Futch who first figured out how to catch tarpon on a rod and reel and started the guide-fishing industry on the southwest Florida coast. In his new book, Historic Tales of Gasparilla Island, Futch shares stories about island life and its history that come from both his family’s tales, and historical records.

Pine Island author reflects on losing home to Ian and seeing the best of humanity since the storm
Robert N. Macomber is an award-winning author of maritime novels, best known for his Honor Series, including the 16th title “Code of Honor” which was released in April of 2022. We’ve had him on the show over the years to talk about his novels and his life’s adventures, and he was a guest on our show Three Song Stories back in 2018. But, today he joins us to talk about what he and his wife have experienced since Hurricane Ian made landfall, completely destroying their Pine Island home.

Recall of turkey bacon, health alert for beef jerky stick product issued due to possible contamination
A recall and a health alert have been issued for two different meat products — turkey bacon due to a possible listeria contamination and a beef jerky stick for an extraneous material contamination.Kraft Heinz Foods Company is recalling approximately 367,812 pounds of fully cooked turkey bacon products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today.The FSIS also issued a health alert for possible contamination of a beef jerky stick product.
