Brothers share Christmas stories and more about growing up on Sanibel

Recently, they interviewed Kenneth and Eugene Gavin, who grew up on Sanibel Island and are now in their early 80s. Their grandparents were among the first Black families to settle on Sanibel. Kenneth Gavin described how their grandparents chose the island.

One eaglet hatched at North Fort Myers nest; second not viable
The first pip was seen late Friday night followed on Saturday by a pip in the other egg. As of Sunday morning video from nest showed one fuzzy little eaglet being tended to by the eagle parents. The remaining egg was considered unviable.
