Paula Bomer’s new novel The Stalker lets us into the mind of a predator, a young man as stupid as he is entitled, and yes, a stalker. His name is Robert Savile, and he goes by “Doughty.” He torments those around him, while his self-delusion allows him to believe he is the best thing to happen to them all. The book is funny, even as it delves into very serious topics such as the sexual assault, misogyny and the privilege of the wealthy.
