Florida Governor Rick Scott says he wants a federal partner who will be as business-friendly as he is.
The governor backs Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney. He's also hoping for GOP super-majorities in Congress, he told Fox News in Fort Myers Wednesday.
"If we got rid – if we reduced the federal corporate tax...if we reduced the business tax federally, if we reduced regulation, if we had a positive attitude about business at the federal level – we clearly do in Florida – think how many jobs we would create", said Scott. "I mean, I need a federal partner that's going to do the exact same thing I'm doing here in Florida."
Scott and the Romney campaign don't always agree on his glowing reports of Florida's economy. The campaign doesn't want President Obama to get credit for good news in the critical swing state.
Scott was in Fort Myers on his education listening tour Wednesday.
He said he's heard from teachers that many spend their own money on school supplies for their students, and he wants to put a stop to that.
