Tropical storm Isaac is churning in the Atlantic.
And weather forecasters have all of South Florida falling within the storm's cone of uncertainty.
That includes Tampa and the Republican National Convention which begins Monday - the same day Isaac may make landfall as a category 1 hurricane or strong tropical storm.
Governor Rick Scott joked with reporters at a media briefing on the storm this morning about what might be affected at the RNC.
"And the most important thing is my speech, Monday night but I'm sure that's not so important for other people. My job is to be governor of the state. I'm responsible for the 19-million people who live here and all the visitors."
Scott was hesitant to discuss canceling the RNC calling the situation "hypothetical." If there is an evacuation, Scott says the RNC will make the final call...sort of.
"This is the convention's decision. But they'll work with the city, they'll work with the county, they'll work with the state. But, with having these briefings everybody will have the same information so I don't think we'll have any confusion."
Scott says no decision will be made today because there are still too many variables.
When asked if he believed in omens by one reporter, Scott replied that everything is going to, "work out."
