The odds are growing that Tropical Storm Isaac will strengthen to a hurricane by Thursday night or Friday.
It's also more likely the hurricane will strike Florida – or come close enough to cause plenty of damage.
That also makes it a threat to next week's Republican National Convention in Tampa, but Governor Rick Scott says Florida can deal with it and it will be the convention organizers' call on what to do about it.
"Look, this state's prepared. We've gone through hurricanes. We have great local emergency teams, we've got great state emergency teams, so depending on what happens – if we have a hurricane – where it's going to hit in the state, we'll deal with it.", Scott said.
Also Thursday morning, the U-S National Hurricane Center said Isaac was located 255 miles south-southeast of San Juan, Puerto Rico. It has maximum sustained winds of nearly forty miles per hour and is moving west at twelve miles per hour.
