Collier Sheriff's Office Creates Task Force to Enforce Executive Order Guidelines

Wondering what to do if you see a business violating the updated executive order requiring business to operate at limited capacity? You could help out the Sheriff's Office by giving them a call.

Lieutenant J.J. Carroll of the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said a task force has been formed to enforce compliance.

Carroll said deputies will check out businesses in question to see if they are violating the executive order.

"Then we present them with a copy of the updated executive order, explain to them how it's supposed to work, and then we complete an offense incident report," Carroll said. "Which then will be forwarded to the department of business and regulation for follow up."

A CCSO public information officer said in an email that business owners will also "be advised that in addition to sanctions that regulatory authorities may place against their license they could also be charged with a misdemeanor if the licensing authority finds them in violation."

Anyone wishing to file a report of a violation with CCSO can call their non emergency number at 239-252-9300.
