Giant Dust Storm On Mars Threatening To End NASA's Opportunity Rover

Joe Palca is a science correspondent for NPR. Since joining NPR in 1992, Palca has covered a range of science topics — everything from biomedical research to astronomy. He is currently focused on the eponymous series, "Joe's Big Idea." Stories in the series explore the minds and motivations of scientists and inventors. Palca is also the founder of NPR Scicommers – A science communication collective.
He’s just 17. He’s already played Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. Last year, he won the Arthur Fraser Piano Competition at the Southeastern Piano Festival. His name is Michael Wu and Gulf Coast Symphony Music Director Andrew Kurtz is bringing him to the Music and Arts Community Center on April 25th.
For months, elementary school students have been submitting plays to Florida Studio Theatre. This past weekend, adult actors in FST's Professional Training Program performed the top 11 entries and the young playwrights received medals of valor during a red carpet event.
