The Florida Senate budget chairman says not all state employees will get raises this year.

Sen. Tom Lee (R-Brandon) said Wednesday there’s no room in the budget to give every state employee a raise.

“There’s not the resources in the budget for an across-the-board pay raise," Lee said. "We will be lookin’ at some targeted things, I don’t know what the priorities are gonna be yet.”

Sen. Arthenia Joyner (D-Tampa) proposed the 3% increase, which would total $262 million. But it looks like there’s little hope for that measure.
