In the wake of Hurricane Arthur, the Atlantic Basin will stay quiet this week in terms of storm formation. However, a weak tropical wave will be approaching central and south Florida out of the Caribbean midweek. An increase in afternoon thunderstorm activity and periods of heavy rain are possible with the wave, mostly concentrated near and south of the I-4 corridor Tuesday through Thursday. Elsewhere, Saharan dust from Africa and wind shear will prevent thunderstorms from forming or organizing into anything of concern for the next 5 to 10 days.
