Miami native, Jennine Capo Crucet, graduated with honors from Cornell University in New York State. She was the first member of her Cuban-American family to attend college. After a stint as a scriptwriter for NPR’s “The Writer’s Almanac,” she published a collection of short stories called “How to Leave Hialeah.” It won the 2009 Iowa Short Fiction Award and was named a best book of the year by the “Miami Herald.” Our reviewer, Sally Bissell, takes a look at Crucet’s first novel, “Make Your Home Among Strangers.”
