Where to register for emergency alerts and find shelters in Lee and Collier counties

Technology has been ramped up for this 2020 hurricane season in Lee and Collier counties.

For the latest information in a weather emergency, Lee County residents can use LeePrepares mobile app for iPhone or Android, on smartphone or tablet. It’s available for download now.

It’s the place to check for evacuation zones, which may have changed since last year. On Lee Prepares, residents can sign up for AlertLee, the alert system that previously was called Code Red. Users will be prompted to create a profile to receive alerts based on the information they enter.

Online, the same information is available through a web browser at AlertLee.com.
