WGCU awarded Arthrex grant for Family Learning Workshops

WGCU Public Media has been awarded a $9,000 charitable grant from Arthrex to support its education initiatives, specifically WGCU’s Family Learning Workshops.

WGCU’s Family Learning Workshops bring PBS KIDS programs and learning tools to families in an innovative, community-focused way. Often called America’s largest classroom, PBS programming is available to 98% of America’s children. By leveraging the tremendous power of media across all platforms — TV, online, mobile and more — children are better prepared for success in school.

Over the past nine years, WGCU has presented 320 Family Learning Workshops and reached thousands of families throughout Southwest Florida. We provide these educational workshops at no cost to schools, education organizations or families.

WGCU will utilize the Arthrex grant to provide 10 workshops in Collier and Lee counties.
