If you are a loved one are experiencing a crisis due to a mental illness, please call 9-1-1 and request a C.I.T. (Crisis Intervention Team) trained officer. C.I.T. officers have received training about mental illnesses, the local service delivery system and effective ways to de-escalate a person experiencing a crisis due to a mental illness.
The National Alliance of Mental Illness (800)950-NAMI is a grassroots, non-profit agency that helps people with mental health issues by offering help finding providers, crisis care and counseling. NAMI also offers various community support groups to help family members and people living with mental illnesses.
