Enrollment Up at Florida Healthy Kids

More kids parents are enrolling their kids in Florida’s child insurance program. Yesterday Florida’s Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink highlighted the need for the state to boost funding for the program. Lynn Hatter reports.

Zero Tolerance Summit

The Department of Juvenile Justice kicked off its “Zero Tolerance summit” yesterday in Orlando. It’s trying to find ways to reduce the number of children entering the criminal justice system. As Lynn Hatter reports, those numbers are disproportionally affecting minority students.

AARP Comes Out Against Amendment 5

Cycle Safety Campaign

Last year more than 500 motorcyclists died - and about 9-thousand were injured - in accidents on Florida’s highways. Officials with the state’s Department of Highway Safety say they want those numbers to drop. They’ve introduced a new campaign to try to make drivers more aware of cyclists on the road.
