Butterflies Are Free
Change is a way of life in recent months at Cape Coral Cultural Park Theatre. There’s a new Board of Directors, a new Executive Director, and a slew of new and energized volunteers. The non-profit community theatre has been producing in Southwest Florida for 40 years. Now its leaders are reaching out to re-ignite the area’s interest. Moon Over Buffalo
Florida Repertory Theatre’s current show “Moon Over Buffalo” pays homage to the great masters of farce. Using door slamming and mistaken identity, mixed with tongue-in-cheek melodrama, playwright Ken Ludwig gives audiences a peek at the backstage antics involved in putting on a show. Search and Rescue Dogs
24 Florida-based dog and handler teams with the search and rescue program - B.A.R.K head to Hurricane Katrina ravaged areas soon. B.A.R.K stands for “Bay Area Recovery K-9's” - The specially trained teams - several from Southwest Florida - were called in by Louisiana to scour the swamps of the Gulf Coast. And as Kathleen Moye reports, in the coming weeks, they’ll lead a fleet of hundreds of airboats looking for survivors and casualities. Donations can be made to Suntrust Banks. (AUDIO)

Vonzell “Baby V” Solomon stepped foot in her hometown Fort Myers for the first time in over 2 months on Friday. She’s survived weekly eliminations to claim Top 3 standing in the popular reality talent show American Idol. As part of the show, each of the final contestants get to visit his or her hometown, and Centennial Park in downtown Fort Myers was packed with fans. Kathleen Moye was there. (AUDIO)
